Assalam Alykum wrtb Dear Brothers and Sisters:
The Islamic Society of British Columbia (ISBC) would like to advise you that Dr. Saadeldin Bahr; who was recently released from jail, has repeatedly requested our permission to enter the Masjid and all those requests have been denied by ISBC based on the legal advice of the ISBC's lawyer. Our lawyer has sent him a letter (download) stating our official position on this matter. However, Mr. Bahr entered the masjid on May 9th, 2020 against our orders. We would like to assure our community that this entrance does not mean any change in our position and our lawyer is dealing with this issue through the legal system.
We know there are many members of our community who will be upset with this news and might think of any action to stop him from entering the masjid however this kind of action inside or in front of the masjid has been proved in the past to be damaging and harmful to our masjid and community. As such, we request everyone to remain calm and ignore his presence inside the masjid until our legal course of action puts an end to this situation.
