All praises and thanks be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. The Islamic Society of British Columbia wishes to congratulate all Muslims with the happy occasion of 'Eid ul-Fitr, and we announce as follows:

There are reliable reports of moon sightseeing in many Islamic countries on the 29th of Ramadan evening. Thus, the month of Ramadan will be 29 days and Friday, April 21, 2023 will be the 1st of Shawwal “Eid-ul-fitr” and Eid Prayers will be held at 7:00AM & 8:30AM inshallah.

The Ruling of Zakat Al-Fitr

Zakat Al-Fitr is obligatory on every Muslim who possesses extra food over and above the basic needs of himself and his family/dependents during the day of `Eid and the night preceding it.
